#Quickbooks enterprise 2015 update patch install
I believe that since every other upgrade was done on a SBS environment(we're 2008 R2 std now), the install was able to create a domain account as a service account. I finally figured out the problem, but it was a doozy. I called back two more times just to see if I got the same treatment. They simply tell you to call back on Monday. General support won't even attempt to help. You know, the two days that the VAST majority of upgrades are done on. And, get this.a product labeled "enterprise" does not have ANY support on Saturday or Sunday. I did run into a problem that I had a hard time resolving for the first hour or so. Copying the exact same files from the DVD we received in the mail to USB sticks worked, though. I'm not sure if I have an issue on that file server or not, but the setup would error out within 2-3 minutes every time. Installing from a network location simply didn't work. The upgrade was finished in about 6 hours. Again, I'll be happy to offer insight if you get stuck. Not fun, but it all worked out eventually. This last upgrade took 22 hours over the course of a weekend, 5 calls to tech support, and 2 Intuit-issued utilities to "repair" things and make them work correctly. Normally, with getting several going at once, I can upgrade our 30 PCs in a normal work day. I've gotten pretty good at upgrading QB, and have grown used to their usual "gotchas", but 12 was the worst upgrade I've done. Add to that there is still no built-in scheduling component for sales orders.Īnyway, I'll stop ranting. The fact that we are just now getting FIFO capability (for an extra annual fee in an "enterprise" product) and frustratingly limited access to "Ship To" information in reports is inexcusable. Again, an overall good product, but I think Intuit needs to employ some folks in the development segment of their company that have, I don't know, actually run a business or acted as a business consultant. I can't tell you the amount of complicated Excel templates I've had to develop over the years to mitigate the lack of features and reporting capability. I like QB, but at times I grow so infuriated with the lack of what should be common features. Trust me, I feel your pain, and I agree that there is a distinct lack of "enterprise" oriented features, particularly in the install/upgrade arena.
Looks like we'll just have to hunker down and just get through it. I was just hoping that a product labeled "enterprise" would have.well, you know.enterprise-minded concepts, such as a large migration from one version to another.
I worked for Intuit for 3.5 years in the early 2000's, but a lot has changed since then. The bolded is a little disconcerting considering that the upgrade from 10 to 11 was a nightmare. If you have any issues, get in touch and I'll be glad to help if I can.

Even at that, several didn't want to register correctly and required manual manipulation of system files to fix that issue.

I had to download the full version from their website (with the latest maintenance releases already incorporated) and use it, along with a couple of utilities to finally get all the clients working.

Many clients (all W7 Pro 64 bit) didn't want to install using the EXE from the installation disk. Also, I've done upgrades from every version since 7.0, and I have to say that the jump to 12 was by far the most problematic and buggy that I've done. I'll get a chain of them going and just work through it.

exe file on a network share and just make the rounds to each machine. Given that, you're going to have to touch every machine anyway. You'll also have those stupid feedback popups, and user survey windows that need to be addressed. I just finished an upgrade to Enterprise 12 from Enterprise 11 two weekends ago.Įven if you could GPO or script the installation, each client will need to register their software at first use by entering the credentials of your Intuit account, along with the business phone number and zip code.
